Cross metathesis functionalization of polyolefins.
A cross metathesis strategy is reported for the post-polymerization functionalization of the pendant vinyl groups present in a range of polyolefin architectures. This represents a general strategy for the synthesis of tailored random and block copolymers as well as homopolymers.

Post-polymerization functionalization of linear polyglycidol with diethyl vinylphosphonate.
In this communication we report on the base catalyzed Michael addition of the hydroxy methyl side groups in polyglycidol to diethyl vinyl phosphonate. Hydrolysis of the diethyl phosphonato ethyl side groups with bromotrimethylsilane leads to a new class of polyglycidols with pendant phosphonic acid groups.
متن کاملKinetic and structural factors in graft polymerization of styrene on polyolefins
Radiation grafting of monomers on polymers is radical polymerization which usually takes place in viscous medium and quite often in a micro-heterogeneous semicrystalline matrix. The role of kinetic and structural factors in the graft polymerization was investigated. Grafting of styrene on polyethylene and polypropylene was initiated by radiation methods (direct irradiation of polymer and monome...
متن کاملNew Methods of Polymerization
Every addition polymerization process involves two fundamental steps: initiation and propagation. Termination is also an important step but in some processes termination may be avoided by a judicious choice of experimental conditions. In the exploration of either new methods of polymerization or the development of existing methods attention may be concentrated on either the initiation process o...
